“Tiny but Mighty” at the Sandy Library

Thanks to the Clackamas County Arts Alliance “TINY BUT MIGHTY” is now on exhibit

September 7- December 7, 2023 at the

SANDY PUBLIC LIBRARY GALLERY, 38980 Proctor Blvd. Sandy OR 97055

Damascus Fiber Arts School tapestry weavers present small handwoven tapestries from their tenth group entry into the non-juried exhibits of the American  Tapestry Alliance. The ATA theme was “Tiny but Mighty” with the idea that although the tapestries are small, the concepts are mighty. We explored that, and added an element of yellow in each tapestry.

There will be a reception Friday, Oct. 6 at 6:00 pm. We hope to see you there.

ATA encouraged artists to try something new in design or technique. The new techniques we employed include hachure, rya loops, pulled warp, Ghiordes knots, raised  edge, wedge weave, and surface embellishments.
