The colors that can be obtained with mushrooms, lichen and local plants is impressive.
August 13-14 was a very hot weekend. Temperatures reached 100 on the second day of this two-day workshop with Cheshire Mayrsohn.
But the heat didn’t slow down the production of dye pots. So many different colors!
It was magical to see what colors could be obtained from lichen and mushrooms and the way they could be altered by adding iron, alum or copper. Everyone left with a notebook full of samples dyed in class with details for each color.
