Jennifer Sargent will talk about her tapestry journey describing the development of her work, the opportunities presented in the course of that work and the opening up of unexpected directions. About the Speaker:
Jennifer Sargent is an artist based in Memphis, Tennessee. She has a BA Textiles from Hornsey College of Art, England and an MFA from Arizona State University. Jennifer discovered tapestry weaving at the Scheuer Tapestry Studio in New York City and worked there for two years. She has received numerous awards including an Individual Artist Fellowship from the Tennessee Arts Commission, Master Artist for Tennessee Craft and a ARTSassist grant from ARTSmemphis. Her work can be found in both private and public collections including Tennessee State Museum, the City Collection of Memphis, and Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts.
