Description
DESCRIPTION: Instructor Linda Gormley will present the principles and elements of design, touch on color theory as well as composition to help create effective and interesting cartoons for tapestry. Students in this one-day workshop will use the method of quick thumbnails sketches and simple collage as tools to express their ideas. The students will then learn effective ways to critique (not criticize) their created compositions to verify their ideas work in an aesthetically pleasing tapestry cartoon. Art, while subjective, can have guidelines that help make your decisions easier based on tried and true artistic practices.

About the Instructor: Linda Gormley has been a weaver with DFAS since 2016. She approaches her tapestry through color, whether it is through monochromatic schemes, grey tones, or the entire rainbow. Linda has a degree in Interior Design from Michigan State University and studied Architecture from Iowa State.
