Description
Description: Mary Lane is the instructor for this 4-day workshop. Explore the sophisticated techniques of half pass, referred to in French, as demi-duite. Students will weave several of the many demi-duite patterns as isolated exercises and then apply some of those patterns to specific interpretive problems, such as transparency, color blending, color transitions or pattern. Participants should have enough experience weaving tapestry that they are proficient at producing an even surface and straight selvedges. Knowledge of the shape building principles of full and hollow threads (low and high threads) will ensure accurate rendering of shapes. This workshop is not suitable for beginners. A materials fee of $30 is payable to the instructor. The maximum class size is 12.
