Description

Janet Dorow instructs this 3-day beginning tapestry workshop designed for those new to tapestry and those requiring a refresher. In this small group workshop, learn the basic techniques of traditional slit tapestry, with emphasis on understanding meet and separate.  Learn to warp your loom, weave stripes and geometric shapes, create curves, and use pigtails to begin and end wefts. Cost includes a 12” x 18” copper pipe loom and one warp. Weft yarn and tools can be purchased from the school shoppe. $5 materials fee paid directly to the instructor.  Min: 2 Max: 6.

Janet Dorow

Janet Dorow is a prolific tapestry artist, creating many of her designs from wildflowers and natural scenery. She admits to a secret interest in combining her love of plants with her interest in tapestry. She wants to more fully explore tapestry and continue to enjoy the learning process, which she does while teaching others to weave.

Janet has been teaching the beginning workshops for several years. She is an active volunteer at our school and is a member of the Willamette Tapestry Artists. She has shown her work in unjuried exhibits with the American Tapestry Alliance.
