Janet Christensen

Janet Christensen was drawn to spinning, acquired way too much wool and needed to learn weaving. She tried the floor loom but thought it too mechanical. Janet then learned to weave tapestry on the Navajo loom at the Damascus Fiber Arts School with Audrey Moore. She weaves tapestry mostly for her own pleasure. When one project comes off the loom, another is ready to weave. Janet says she weaves so many tapestries she has to keep them rolled up in boxes under the bed.

Janet: “I weave because I love the feel and beauty of Wool. I never thought of myself as an artist but creating with my hands on a loom has brought me joy and satisfaction in my senior years.”
