Bob Van Slyke is a big fan of Navajo style weaving. He has a collection of authentic rugs purchased in the Southwest, but those rugs made him want to weave his own. Audrey Moore taught Bob to weave on the Navajo style loom and he just keeps weaving. He likes to look at Navajo weavings and photos of Navajo weavings, then use elements from them to create his rugs.
Bob’s gallery of Navajo style rugs filled the walls one year. He gave a talk on the styles and regions of each rug. He weaves them for his own home.
